I still have a couple of free nights at the Hyatt so I decide to stay at Casino Az and play for aout the next two days straight. The $10-20 HE was tough, many of the players were very good with the exception of two players. One player was an Iranian dealer who complained about something on every hand. Another guy was a tall, red-haired guy who looked like he had a serious drinking problem. He went through $500 in an hour. I was up about $300 and heard the $20-40 calling my name.
They finally call me for $20-40 and I sit in the 5 seat. There were some big stacks in the game and I was a little nervous due to my bankroll not being as large as I would like it. I decide to post and I get 10-Ju. UTG raises, #1 seat re-raises, everyone folds including me and UTG re-raises, #1 seat calls. Flop comes 10-10-J. I bite my lip and chalk it up to being unlucky. UTG and #1 both show A-K. Oh well. I hang around even for about the first hour and then take a hit when my AA gets cracked by trip Jacks. The flop was K-Q-x and I was pounding it all the way. Turn card was a blank, no flush draw. River card was a jack, I bet and he calls showing his trips.
Ouch!! I use the excuse of being hungry to get up from the table and cuss the guy out under my breath. On the way over to the snack area I am thinking how bad of a play that guy made and about how much money good play will win at that table. So now I'm cooled off and order the nachos with extra cheese and peppers, WOW I must have forgotten I was in the southwest, those peppers were on fire. A couple hours later catch a hot streak and I cashout +600. It's about 4:00 am and I head back to the hotel.
When I left Florida I left everything with my ex. The furniture, dining room table, tv, everything we had gotten together. So the only thing I had with me was a car full of personal things like clothes, papers, George Foreman Grill:), and stuff like that. So I'm driving around with my car full of stuff everywhere I go. Starting to miss my daughter a great deal at this time, and am feeling super-guilty. Life on the road was not anything like I thought it would be. It is very lonely and it sucks not being able to come home to your apartment or house. I'm doing very well at the tables and i had more money in my pocket than ever before, but it seemed useless not to be able to enjoy it. So now I have made up my mind to go back home and be a father. I was thinking about the drive back home and the embarassment of it all when I thought to myself how many more times will I be this close to Vegas? Well it didn't take long to convince myself to head to The Bellagio for a couple days and then back home.
I was extremely excited about Vegas and extremely happy about my decision to go back home. Sorry to end it right here but there's a game calling my name. Part 3 will be about the Bellagio and the wipe out:(
Editors Note: Part 3 was never posted. I'll always wonder if he made it to the Bellagio or returned home.
